During a workshop in Murray Bridge recently for Regional Development Australia, I met Andy Ide, a man obsessed by the technology known as 3D printing.
When he mentioned it to me on the night I nodded cautiously, thinking I knew what he was talking about but it was when I walked through his website and watched a video of the process that my jaw dropped and I realised I was listening with a 20th Century mindset to 21st Century science!
In essence, 3D printing is when three dimensional plans are applied to a printer that can spew resins and different substances from its printing head, rather than just ink.

This month on Online Insights, we will celebrate fathers day, look at parking in a whole new light, view incredible video tricks, and think about a calendar that falls to pieces.
First though, Google unveiled a new tool in Gmail accounts since we last spoke. If you have a Gmail email account you can turn on priority sorting. This means that Google applies some clever thinking in your inbox, based on your usual email habits to help sort your more important email from less important stuff. For example, if you always open emails from certain people, they will sit at the top of your inbox and vice versa for emails you usually leave unopened or delete. Another clever tool from Google – sometimes I wonder how I’d navigate the world without them!
Fathers Day
It’s Fathers Day today and that brings us to Australian Camp Connect. I’d never heard of this group but it exists to help dads connect or reconnect with kids. It says it is all about grabbing your kids, a sleeping bag and a torch, and heading off on a journey to deeper relationships. Continue reading

79 Degrees
If you are a foodie, you will probably love this new site created by two, Adelaide-based food fanatics who are on a mission to rescue us from eating bland, worthless food!
But unlike the plethora of cooking and food sites out there, 79 degrees is “less about food and more about food as a culture, the centerpiece of society, the centre of the home.”
As the guys say on the website, “We will talk about good food from first principles. We are not chefs, we are not cooks, we do this out of love for good food and what it does to our lives and our families. We will take the mystery out of good food; promoting the fun and stimulating aspects of cooking – not just eating!”
Who are these guys? They’re Nathan and George. During the day, they both work for the Property Council but by night and by weekend, they can be found in their kitchens, making food, trying new things, and sharing it with their families. Oh, yes, food used to be like that!!!
