2 Cats Are Back
After the debut season of 2 Cats On A Hot Fringe Roof lampooning kids’ TV in the 2019 Adelaide Fringe, the cats are back with “celebrity” in their sights!
But what does it mean to be a celebrity? What drives celebrities to specify weird requests in the riders they produce? Are some celebrites obnoxious when they’re riding with a local chauffeur?
All will be revealed with names dropped and secrets shared, this Adelaide Fringe 2020 in 2 Cats Drove Into The Cuckoo’s Nest.
Ralf might never be allowed to drive celebrities again!
For his day job, Ralf operates Life Is A Cabernet tours, offering one-of-a-kind tours for to an exclusive array of South Australian wineries, restuarants, and locations.
Not long to go now to get your tickets, book your meals, and get together with friends at the Historian Hotel for one of the most delightful nights of the Adelaide Fringe 2020!
What’s In Store
What To Expect During 2 Cats Drove Into The Cuckoo’s Nest
The first thing to expect is to be shocked and surprised by some of the stories about performers you know and love. You will leave with different opinions about many of them. And here are some other aspects of the show.
You’ll also see some exclusive video content with some of the biggest names in music from the past few decades, recorded especially for this show.
What Is Celebrity?
Steve will take you on a comedic journey to the origins and evolution of celebrity. Some people are born celebrities, some achieve celebrity, and some have celebrity thrust upon them!
Fun, Fun, Fun
Quite simply, 2 Cats shows are times for having a drink or three and then sitting back for some good times. And who’s never had a good time in the back seat with “the cats”?
You don’t get to spend private time with as many celebrities as Ralf has, without building a library of stories showing the human side of these dynamic public figures.
You’ll Get Reviewed
Once again, Steve will be a theatre reviewer during the Adelaide Fringe but can’t ethically review his own show, so he’ll be reviewing each night’s audience. Live comedy is a collaboration between performers and audience members, so make sure you’re fully present and you might earn 5 stars!
Here is everything about 2 Cats Drove Into The Cuckoo’s Nest that you wanted to know but were too afraid to ask.
What time and where?
2 Cats Drove Into The Cuckoo’s Nest is on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 7.30pm for the first two weeks of the 2020 Adelaide Fringe, upstairs at the Historian Hotel, 18 Coromandel Pl, Adelaide. That’s a little side street that runs between Grenfell Street and Pirie Street, just east of and parallel to Gawler Place.
The actual dates are February 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26.
What's the deal with dinner and show?
This is really important. In the 2019 season, our audiences raved about the hearty and delicious gourmet pub meals they got for the extra $20 a ticket. And the cats loved it because by guests arriving early to eat and relax, it meant they were primed to have a great show.
But there is something you need to know.
You must have your dinner BEFORE the show because there is no room in the venue for tables, especially this year.
So, quite simply, to take advantage of the great food, choose the dinner + show ticket option and then call the Historian to also book a table on the night. The show starts at 7.30 so as close to 6pm as you can manage is the most ideal arrival time.

Does Ralf really drive celebrities around?
Yes. And he’s done it for decades with relationships stretching back just as far.
It’s safe to assume that if there’s a big name in town, they’ve been in Ralf’s backseat!
Got any questions?
This is “fringe”, which means there are no degrees of separation between performers and audiences (well, there shouldn’t be). So if you have any questions about our show, please just fire off your question and we’ll be in touch.
About 2 Cat’s Drove Into The Cuckoo’s Nest
Pink, Lionel Ritchie, Kenny Rogers, Beyonce – most celebrities visiting Adelaide ride in the back of Ralf Hadzic’s limousines in his ‘cone of silence’. But in this follow up to ‘2 Cats On A Hot Fringe Roof‘ Ralf reveals the real demands VIPs make and some of them are truly bizarre.
Steve Davis aka Mr Squiggle also returns, this time with brand new back seat comedy. Steve’s talked his way into many places he shouldn’t have, and there are stories aplenty, from WOMAD to LA.
Steve Davis is the voice behind The Adelaide Show Podcast and facilitator of the School Of Hard Knock Knocks comedy school in Adelaide. Last year’s Fringe show, 2 Cats On A Hot Fringe Roof, with Ralf Hadzic, was SOLD OUT for most of the season and he’s hoping this fresh collection of stories will please even more audiences in 2020.
Steve also runs Talked About Marketing, a marketing consultancy that operates under Oscar Wilde’s wonderful quip: there’s only one thing worse than being talked about and that’s NOT being talked about.
So, please talk about the 2 Cats’ show, and help spread happiness and delight during Adelaide Fringe 2020.
Here are some blog posts or articles that capture the behind-the-scenes lead up to Adelaide Fringe 2020.
What is the journey into stand up comedy really like? That was the question posed to me by Paul Richards on FIVEaa on on Friday, February 1, 2019. The interview took place a week after my first (unsuccessful) tilt at Raw Comedy and coincided with the lead up to my...
What is this valuable damaging lost art of reviewing? Or, should I be asking, how do we solve a problem like reviewers? Well, here's something interesting. I've been reviewing for two decades and aim to do a fair job, writing with the subject's audience in mind. Many...
Much has been written about Bohemian Rhapsody and its factual shortcomings but be that as it (Brian) may, there is much to endear this film to those of us who enjoy and appreciate succulent moments of reflection and emotional depth. One of the first things that struck...
